June 30, 2010 Beningo Noynoy Aquino III beat out 8 competitors garnering 42% of the vote to become the Philippines 15th president. Today in his inaugural address, he told a crowd of half a million, You are the reason why, today, the suffering of the people will end. The New York Times reported: Mr. Aquino promised to make jobs and a stable environment for investment in the Philippines, where 10 percent of the population works abroad and an estimated one in four people lives on the equivalent of a dollar a day.
