More than 3,500 people cast their ballots in-house or via home bound voting instead of waiting to go to the polls today.
For Al Rosalin, 59, of Ordot/Chalan Pago, he felt the early election process was brilliant because it enables people like him to attend All Souls Day mass, which is also on the same day as the General Election.
He admits hes not pleased with the negative campaigning between the two gubernatorial teams.
œJust stick to the issue and not the background of what a person did. Its so sad, Rosalin said. œIts not the way to go about that. You have to stick to the issue (like) what the plans are for the future of Guam.
Relaxing on the carpeted floor near the GEC entrance and waiting for his number to be called, former commission member Larry Ramirez, 68, of Ordot agreed with Rosalin about voting early.
œIm a Catholic and All Souls Day is very vital, said Ramirez.
He also thinks the election will run smoothly despite the negativity between the parties.
œIm satisfied with way the election is running (but) I despise this negative campaigning on both sides. I really want to see what they are capable of doing, he said.
One gentleman who declined to be identified felt this years gubernatorial election was different from four years ago.
œIt does matter to me a lot on whos going to win or not. Im just hoping it will be the right person up there, whoever wins, he said. œThere seems to be too many promises that are not well kept.
