The United Workers Movement-NMI is sponsoring a prayer Vigil and launching petition signature campaign to U. S. President Barrack Obama for the improved status of the CNMI alien workers.
What: Prayer Vigil and launching petition signature campaign to U.S President Barrack Obama.
When: Tuesday, November 9, 2010 starting at 6:00 pm.
Where: American Memorial Park.
Why: To appeal to U.S President Barrack Obama to take immediate action on the status of the alien workers in the CNMI and show support for the U.S. Secretary of Interiors recommendations of long-term status for legal aliens who have resided in the CNMI for five years or more, and to urge U.S. Congress to act quickly on the recommendations.
Who: All members of the community are invited.
President Barrack Obama spoke of hope. He said, In the United States of America, there has never been anything fake about hopeIn America, no dream is beyond our grasp if we reach for it, and fight for it, and work for it. Because hope is not blind optimism.
