TWO islandwide network- service interruptions affected Docomo Pacific clients over the weekend, and they were due to the ongoing restoration work of its base stations.
Docomo Pacific general manager for Saipan James Nelson yesterday said in an email that the two unexpected service interruptions occurred at 2:30 p.m. Friday and on Saturday afternoon, producing limited coverage of Docomo Pacifics GMS operation on Saipan, Tinian and Rota.
Nelson said the ongoing restoration of their base stations was being facilitated on a site by site basis, resulting in a staggered schedule of full recovery.
He said engineers from Nokia Siemens were assisting in the optimization of the network.
Docomo Pacific is currently assessing this incident and reviewing the circumstances which led to the service interruption, Nelson said.
There was no advance notice for the disruption as it was unexpected and the network was not taken off-line when scheduled maintenance was being performed, he added.
Docomo Pacific extends its sincerest apology to those affected by the service interruption and is particularly appreciative of its customers patience and understanding throughout the period of interruptions, he said.
