June 3, 2010 The CNMI Senate will hold public hearings to œgauge CNMI residents opinions on the DOI Report. They will submit their own recommendations within 90 days. The CNMI nonresidents and their supporters submitted a petition with over 7,000 signatures calling for green cards and an unobstructed pathway to citizenship in March 2010. They also submitted hundreds of letter explaining their individual situations and length of time that they have lived and worked in the CNMI.
