Every few weeks the Marianas Visitors Authority issues a press release taking credit for some media outlet in Japan or Korea printing anything having to do with Saipan.In fact, in todays newspaper they take credit for for an upcoming feature in a Japanese dive magazine.MVA estimates how much it would have cost to buy similar ad space in said media and comes up with a figure for the value of the exposure.In the case of the latest example, 10 pages in a magazine with a circulation of 120,000 is worth $61,000.
I dont remember seeing an MVA press release on Chrissie Chaus photo book released last year.Thats too terrible because I reckon this girl has more exposure generating mojo than the fish in the Grotto and the view at Suicide Cliff combined.
Im just sayin.
The only reason I even know who this girl is is because I saw that somebody found the Saipan Blog while doing a google search for Saipan bikini.Along with photos of Kimiko at the Hyatt, most of the search result photos are of Chrissie Chau (her Chinese name iså'¨ç§å¨œ) from her book Kissy Chrissie Saipan 2009.
I was intrigued by the word Saipan in the name of her photo book and with a few minutes of research found out that this girl is a pretty huge deal.Maybe not as a huge a deal as Brad Ruszala, but still.Shes got a well loved blog and she appears on ads on bus stops all over Hong Kong.Check her out on CNN as proof that Im not making this up.
Its too terrible I lost my race for Mayor of Saipan.The current mayor is keeping up with the travel schedule of his predessor and plans to spend $25,000 on junkets this year alone (in the name of tourism, of course).That money would be better spent getting Chrissie Chau back on Saipan for Kissy Chrissie Saipan 2010.
Again, Im just sayin.
Id even let MVA take the credit.
